2018 Challenge Update (Week 4)

So we are back to the time of the year where if I average a book a week I am happy. Between school and family my energy is always zapped at the end of the day, and reading novels is something I do while I am waiting to fall asleep.

Not to say I have completely stopped reading during the day. Rather, my attention is directed to the heavier textbook materials and notes that come with being an upper level science major.

This past week I got a grand total of one book read (woohoo!), a fantasy ARC that got me zero progress in any reading challenges other than the 2018 Goodreads Challenge, bringing me to 8 out of 100 books read for the year.

This week I ran 9.25 total miles, bringing my annual total up to 71.85 out of 1000 miles for the year. I’ve been very tired and very busy, so I am happy, if not thrilled with the runs. I also got in five rainy miles on my bike Saturday morning, but that doesn’t count toward run totals so boo!

I would love to see some increase in mileage this week, but we’ll see. During the semester anything goes. I did get in three TKD classes, there is a tournament coming up that I will be competing in, and went to a mid-week lunch yoga class and body pump class Saturday morning. I think above all it’s more important to be active and moving, so that’s really the ultimate goal when I am struggling with a bunch of stuff during the week.

Also: not sure what this has to do with anything other than talking about working out and it’s close to Valentine’s Day sooo I’m going to leave it here anyways. Indulge me. Until next week!

  1. Well done. πŸ™‚ I have to admit I’m a little jealous of your running goals and your achievement. Last night, I was eating potato chips when my roommate suddenly blurted out, I quote, “Oh My God!!!, you’re fat.” I was speechless. Hahaha… I got to admit, fitness isn’t really been in my mindlately. Glad you’re going well with it. πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Goodluck with your goals.

    1. What would we do without brutally honest roommates?? That sounds like my husband πŸ˜‚ Needless to say some weeks I get more done than others, but I tell myself even though it really sucks in the moment I feel better afterwards, so I try to make it a priority.

… But then there’s those days I drink a bottle of wine by myself so πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ
