WWW Wednesday (07-19-17): New Orleans Edition

Hi friends! WWW Wednesday is a meme currently hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words. Game plan is simple – answer the three questions and leave a link on Sam’s post. Kind of like Goodreads but more intentional.

The Three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?

What did you recently finish reading?

What do you think you’ll read next?

So without further ado:

What did you recently finish reading?

What are you currently reading?

Personally I have been listening to Gregory Maguire’s  Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West (Wicked Years) while I go on my early morning runs. I have IMG_3396about two hours left in the book and I am not sure why I waited so long to plunge in. The book has been siting on myself for years. PSA: this is not a YA book. There are several portions dedicated to sex (of all sorts), so if that is a deal breaker for you, proceed with caution.
Finally, I am reading through W. Bruce Cameron’s A Dog’s Journey. Sequel to A Dog’s Purpose (which was my first book review on the blog) the story is told from the dog’s perspective. Buddy has had a good life and fulfilled his Purpose. Or so he thought. Now he has found a new purpose: Clarity June. A troubled teenager with a fiery spirit, this dog has his hands full. Just like the first book the novel is sweet and at times funny, and with a hundred pages left I hope to have it done before the end of the week.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I absolutely must read The Things We Wish Were True by Marybeth Mayhew Whalen. It’s a book club choice and we are meeting to discuss it next week. The novel is about the secrets of a small town and the web of lies woven by the people who reside there. I am dragging my feet on this one since it is not a book I would have picked out for myself, but that is also the beauty of book clubs and opening up your literary horizons.

Audio wise will most likely  be The King’s General by Daphne du Maurier. Rebecca has been on my mind ever since I finished it last week (review here) so I have high hopes. Again I will be going into this book blind, so have intentionally been staying away from any reviews/synopses. I have come to enjoy these blind dates and the element of surprise.

Question of the Day:

What about you? What are you reading? Where have you been vacationing this summer?
